Kaio invented lightbending. It is very similar to lightning, but it can't harm anyone.
Lightbending requires inner peace and a calm mind.
Unlike lightning, you command the light.
Here's some information about lightbending:
[link]The generated light can be used as:
a light source
a heat source (it is fairly warm)
a weapon (you can't harm anyone, but you can blind someone)
Skilled lightbenders can turn invisible, because people can see because of light. If a lightbender bends the light around him in such a way that it doesn't touch him, he can't be seen.
If he does that, people see a black dot in front of them, unless a lightbender bends the light of his surroundings and uses it as camouflage.
Kaio, however, isn't able to do this technique yet, but this is his theory.

A black spot occurs when light is absorbed totally by the object or diverted AFTER it has hitted the object (which would cause some sort of ghost image projected to some other people or some objects like mirrors or glasses)
